It stopped snowing aroundmidday yesterday. Mark was up early this morning to dig out the car. The roads are mostly clear and we even saw a snowplow/sand truck (possibly Victoria's oinly one?) while driving Mark to work this morning.
Anyway, it's a beautiful day here - sunny. The weather promises to return to normal by the weekend (50 degrees and rain). In the meantime, here's a link to the webcam on top of the Royal BC Museum.
The large cherry tree is continuing to fill in with blossoms. It should be in full flower by the time someone arrives in a week.
A view of downtown and the Olympic mountains from the back deck. Excuse the power lines... And the daffodils are starting to blossom in the backyard. And the camelias are in blossom and will be beautiful for a week or so, until their flowers turn brown and begin to rot.
Here we have a small view of the Olympic Mountains beyond downtown Victoria (and across the water). It is actually a little too sunny today to get a good view of them.
A beautiful spring day on the 10th of February. If the weather holds and it creeps up another couple of degrees I'll head down to the ocean for a swim.
Here is Stinky Dog's new sister, posing behind a baby palm tree in our backyard. The fruit trees are starting to bloom now (about 2-3 weeks early). Here are a few blossoms off of the old cherry tree that shades the back deck.
This is the view from our front steps, unfortunately it is an overcast winter day, so you can't see the mountains or the ocean (other than a tiny slice).
Our little house on the hill. A 1927 Hollywood Hills-style bungalow overlooking downtown Victoria, the Strait of Juan de Fuca and the Olympic Peninsula.
